Becky Dirksen
I’m Becky Dirksen, owner of Springboard Piano, and I began teaching in Colorado Springs in 2009. Starting as the only instructor, and traveling around the city, I learned I loved teaching, and loved helping families start their musical journeys. Mentoring students to learn to express their musical voice, much like a learning a new language, became my passion. Soon my referrals began to overwhelm me and I decided to hire a team of teachers to work with me.
Juggling a family of four children, including one with special needs, I’ve found that teaching and networking became a needed outlet. As my kids grew up and that need changed, my role within the company changed as well. Now mostly serving as the face and voice of the company, I will answer your call or email and do my best to set you up with the right instructor. I continue to believe that piano lessons indeed “springboard” young students into successes and opportunities in other areas of life. I look forward to working with you too!

Danielle Hrovat
I am Danielle Hrovat. It has been a privilege to provide piano lessons to budding artists for three years. I believe music is fundamental in skill building of emotional regulation, fine motor coordination, language development, spatial awareness, mathematical and logical development, focus, and memory development. Every student, no matter how young they are, have their own learning style and interests. I try to assess their learning styles and provide the appropriate teaching techniques to meet their needs. I obtained an Early Childhood Education Certificate to provide age appropriate lessons for Preschool to first grade students. I provide group lessons for families and progress to piano training when they are ready. Parents are encouraged to learn piano and we guide the lesson progression to meet their family’s busy schedules. I love to incorporate tonal patterns and rhythm patterns; if my student can hear the song in their head before playing it, then they can play in more accurately. The most important focus during our sessions is to have fun and enjoy the beauty of music. There is nothing better than to witness a student use their knowledge and skills and play a new song without prodding from me or their parents.
Sophia Tucker
Hi, my name is Sophia. I come from a artsy family in Colorado Springs. My mother is a high school art teacher and my father taught guitar and piano lessons. I began learning piano at an early age from my Dad. During Liberty High School I played piano in Jazz Band, and attended Colorado Springs Conservatory of Music. During this time I met my piano teacher, Lauren Cibrowoski, who guided me towards a music degree in college. At Fort Lewis College I had the privilege of studying under Dr. Lisa Campi and received my B.A. in Music Business (a dual degree) at Fort Lewis College with an emphasis in piano, voice, and organ.
I have been giving piano lessons for 14 years, and I believe in catering a lesson plan to each individual, as no one learns the same! I enjoy teaching beginner to intermediate level, at any age. As a teacher, I am here to help you reach your goals in a fun and positive environment!

Breanna Chadwick
Hi! My name is Breanna Chadwick! Most of the time I go by Miss Brea :) I'm a Colorado native that absolutely loves music, teaching young minds, and creating a fun space to do so. I have been with Springboard Piano for 7 years now and have enjoyed being able to show and bring children to a love for the piano as well. As I have played since I was five, I appreciate it in my life and when I started teaching, I knew it was a passion that I couldn't shake. While I do focus on sight reading capabilities and theory structure, I also incorporate a lot of improvisation and chord work that helped me as an adult become more free with the way I played, instead of always having to stick to "reading the notes." When I'm not playing or teaching piano, I work as a behavioral technician for an early childhood center, one on one treatment therapy for children with autism or learning disabilities. I also do yoga, read and write, kickbox and hang with my community.
Hope Tuin
Hello I’m Hope! I was raised in Petoskey, MI, and I moved out to Colorado in early 2017. I have loved music from an early age and fell in love with the piano when I was 13.
I graduated with my Associate's Degree in Music from Pikes Peak Community College (now Pikes Peak State College) in 2022 and am now continuing my education in music at UCCS, pursuing my Bachelor's Degree in Music. I’ve been teaching with Springboard Piano since July 2022 and I love being able to share my passion for music and piano through education.

Meghan Dougherty
Hi everyone, I’m Meghan! I grew up in central PA, but I’ve called Colorado Springs home now for almost a decade. I have been enamored by music my entire life, starting piano lessons when I was only 6. Growing up, music was my happiest place, and I appreciated the freedom and beauty of expression that music afforded me. Starting in middle school and continuing through high school, I was accompanying various choirs—even helping in my later years to conduct them and teach them too. I excelled in all of my music studies, and it’s now one of my greatest joys to help guide students now on their own musical journeys. Lessons with me are full of laughter, musical games, and the occasional metronome (they’re just SO useful!). I always aim to be creative with my lessons to meet each individual’s needs and ultimately, help them meet their own goals. I also help out with some of the administrative side of things for Springboard. When I’m not teaching, you can find me playing with my dog (a chocolate lab named Mowgli), making yummy food in the kitchen, and playing games with friends.
